Since the launch of Campaign 4, fresh DM Brennan Mulligan has kept fans guessing with rich lore, a colorful mix of personalities, and a gripping narrative including celestial beings, demons, and dark forces expanding in influence within the city.
Note: Revealing details for the third episode of Campaign 4 are included.
The Soldiers Table Unveiled
Episode 3 ended with a major cliffhanger and introduced the initial group of heroes who will branch out from the primary party to begin their independent quest, apart from the other two tables.
The Soldiers table includes the determined fighter (portrayed by Travis), Thimble (Laura Bailey), the fierce warrior (the cast member), Wicander Halovar (the player), and the mysterious adventurer (the actor).
Why Split the Party?
With 13 cast members, it was obvious from the start that maintaining everyone at the same party would be unworkable.
That’s why, the opening chapters of the new season serve as an Introduction, intertwining the personal journeys before splitting into three separate parties: Fighters, Strategists, and Seekers.
What Defines the Soldiers Table
According to Brennan Lee Mulligan, the Soldiers table is for adventurers who prefer a traditionally charged combat and conflict-driven gameplay experience where diplomatic options are few and far between.
Initially, characters like the hesitant healer Wicander might seem out of place, but the actions of the latest installment show why these particular heroes are ideally matched for the Soldiers table.
Motivations for Departure
For one thing, the party understands precisely where to go next after a intense opening clash with the enemy group.
An old friend of Thjazi—whose passing kicked off the story’s plot—exploited the foes for his personal gain, breaking into the hidden lair, assaulting the rogue, and taking all the powerful objects to auction.
The traitor then settled his liabilities and ran away to a secure base in the remote area, beyond Dol-Makjar, with Cyd Pridesire hot on his heels.
Individual Reasons
Secondly, each member has a personal reason to leave the city Dol-Makjar:
- The agile hero, as the companion and best friend, seeks vengeance.
- Kattigan is familiar with the region and advises that it is a nasty environment.
- The strong character and The healer, having resisted his relatives’ demands to kill the fighter and instead saved him, have no safe haven.
- However, their status as important members in the powerful family could help the party reach areas they usually can’t.
- Moreover, The grateful character swore a unbreakable promise to The savior for his rescue and will now go with him wherever.
Fugitives
Finally, all of them are hunted by the powers that rule Dol-Makjar for a variety of reasons, making lingering locally too risky:
- The rogue and The character are recognized lawbreakers.
- The warrior and The healer betrayed House Halovar and the legion of demons they are aligned with.
- Teor is wanted dead by the clan.
This leaves them no alternative but to travel to the remote area in search of Casimir.
Upcoming Developments
From the recent installment’s Cooldown, we learn that the warrior group will be absent next week, leaving the remaining eight participants to assemble the Seekers and Planners groups.
Viewers can look forward to finding out which players will be assigned to which table in the story’s last Overture episode, released on the upcoming Thursday.
